Run by volunteers<\/h2>

We Skate Soton is volunteer-run. Emily and Amy both work full time and organise and host meet ups in their spare time. One day Emily would love (like really love) for this to be her full time job.

The group has received a couple of bits of funding since 2021 and has been paid for organising and attending events by other organisations, but for the most part Emily and Amy do this for free.<\/p>

Any money made from merch sales or sales of zines goes right back into the community, and supports our mission of getting more people into skating!<\/p>

The We Skate Solidarity Fund<\/h2>

We really want to make sure as many people as possible can experience the magic of skating, but we are aware that there are barriers to getting involved in the sport.<\/p>

We would really love to be able to offer our community (and by that we mean anyone that has skated with us, be it for one session or several) a way to push through the barriers to skating and to keep doing the thing that they love. Or to start doing something great.<\/p>

Bearings given up? Wheels got flat spots? Knee pads seen one too many slams and are no longer protecting your knees? Snapped your deck? We'd love to help out!<\/p>

This is where you come in! To be able to offer help to our community we need donations to build our fund and we would be really grateful for anything you can donate. Either as a one off donation or a monthly amount. Nothing is too small and everything will go towards helping our community to succeed in their skating goals.<\/p>
